A unique and rare discovery -- a
glass negative
This unusual glass negative of Temple Square was recently found while cleaning out a grandmother's basement in a small Utah town. Most glass negatives of this time period were small in size, making this a unique find. Measuring 53 by 16 3/4 inches, it is the largest known photograph of Temple Square of the time period. It shows a panoramic view of the Salt Lake Temple, the Tabernacle, the Assembly Hall, and the grounds as they were around 1896.
